Here's a recap of our day
This morning, we played Frogger in our small groups. Froggers were sneaky and tried their hardest to get others out while staying secretive to the detective wouldn't. When we came up on stage together, we played Whoosh Ball, a silly circle game involving passing an energy ball and other ridiculous rules like Boing, Groovalicious, and Wooooaaaah! In the morning rehearsals, we ran everything we know so far, including scenes, songs, and dances! We are trying to transition into using the music tracks without lyrics. Then, we had a more focused dance rehearsal where we practiced many things we already know, and also learned the Bend and Snap dance. We took a break for lunch and meditation time before jumping into our afternoon activities! For Skills with a Z, we practiced our awareness of ourselves, others, and our setting. Campers discussed in their small groups why awareness is important for ourselves, as well as why it's important at school and also in our show. We love listening to our middle schoolers' deep thinking and thoughtful ideas! After Skillz with a Z, we played a fun story game called Secret King. Our afternoon rehearsals included a blocking session, and a singing session. Our director and vocal director were super helpful! We know that once a scene has been blocked, our directors want us to no longer need the script. Study study, practice practice at home! At the end of the day, we had an Awards Ceremony hosted by two swashbuckling pirates!
